About this department
Books & Books stocks toys the way a good toy shop does: a short list of things that get played with for years. Stacking rings and plush for the first two years; blocks, train sets and play kitchens for two to six; dinosaur figures, foam rockets and remote-control cars for four to nine; construction kits, puzzles and board games from seven up.
Every toy is listed with its age range, piece count and materials, and everything for under-3s passes the small-parts test. Cash on delivery is available nationwide, delivery is free on orders over Rs. 2,500 (a flat Rs. 199 below that) and anything unused can be returned within 7 days.
The toys with real evidence behind them are open-ended: blocks, tracks, puzzles, pretend play and art materials. They build spatial reasoning, early maths and patience because the child has to do the thinking. We stock those, and very little that flashes or sings. Our guide Educational Toys That Actually Teach explains what each type builds.
Under-3 toys have no parts small enough to fit through a toilet-roll tube, no button batteries and no cords longer than 15 cm. Plastic is BPA-free, painted wood uses non-toxic paint, and battery compartments need a screwdriver. If a toy arrives and it is not right for your child, return it within 7 days.
